The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2024 has released its fifth round seat allotment results at their official website https://josaa.nic.in on 17th July 2024. Students can see their alloted seats by login to the portal. The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) handles the counselling process for JEE Main rank holders seeking admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). However, the fifth round of JoSAA counselling also includes the NIT+ system. The NIT+ system covers 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, three Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), and 33 other-GFTIs. These institutions offer undergraduate programs in engineering, technology, and architecture. Candidates who received seats in the NIT+ system during the JoSAA 2024 counselling must pay the partial admission fee (PAF) by July 23. This fee is required for those who got a seat allocation in any round of JoSAA 2024 and are staying within the NIT+ system. Failure to pay the PAF by the deadline signifies rejection of the allocated seat. The vacant seat will then be offered to candidates in the upcoming CSAB 2024 special rounds. The fees for SC, ST, GEN-PwD, GEN-EWS-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD, and ST-PwD candidates is Rs 20,000, and for all other candidates is Rs 45,000. Once the admission is confirmed, the PAF can be adjusted with the final institute admission fee but is non-refundable. To allocate seats for the NIT+ system, candidates are assigned a state code of eligibility. This code represents the state from where the candidate first appeared for the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination. The state codes are the same as those given in the JEE Main 2024 information bulletin. It is important to note that the state code of eligibility does not depend on the candidate's native place or residence, according to the JoSAA information brochure. State code of eligibility means the code of the state from where the candidate has first appeared Class XII (or equivalent) examination. Students can see the complete information bulletin released by official JoSAA website and next steps by clicking on the button below. CollegeTpoint will update you further as soon as there is any new updates or notification regarding JoSAA 2024.
