Established in 2002 under a joint vision of the Government of Himachal Pradesh and Jaypee Group, JUIT Solan is a private deemed university located ~22 km from Shimla on a lush 25-acre campus at Waknaghat. It offers B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Sc, B.Pharmacy, and Ph.D. programs in fields like Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Civil Engineering, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, and Bioinformatics. Accredited by UGC, AICTE, PCI, and NAAC and ranked among NIRF’s 151–200 band (2023), it has approximately 2,000 undergraduates and 150 faculty members. The campus features modern academic blocks, labs, hostels, gym, and library. As per recent data, around 270 undergraduates placed with a median package ~₹6 LPA. JUIT’s strengths include small cohort size (~1,800 students), focus on IT and research, and scenic Himalayan setting.
