Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Berhampur

Established in 2009 as a government-run engineering college under BPUT, PMEC is now an autonomous state-funded institution on an 80-acre campus in Berhampur. Offering 8–9 B.Tech and 4–5 M.Tech programs across Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, ECE, CSE, Automobile, Metallurgy, Chemical, and Production Engineering, it also serves as a doctoral research center on behalf of BPUT. The institute is the only government engineering college in southern Odisha and aims to evolve into a center of excellence. The campus includes academic blocks, labs, hostels, library, sports grounds, and a canteen. With NAAC B+ accreditation, its placement cell reports over 90% placement rate, average packages near ₹3–3.5 LPA and highest offers reaching ₹6–7 LPA. PMEC is valued for its disciplined academics, affordable tuition, and strong mission towards regional technological upliftment.
