National Institute of Technology Sikkim

NIT Sikkim, founded in 2010, is one of India’s newer NITs located near Ravangla in Sikkim. Operating from a temporary campus in a scenic hill locale, the institute is transitioning toward a larger permanent campus in Khamdong. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in core disciplines—Civil, CSE, ECE, EEE, and Mechanical—alongside foundational sciences and humanities. Known for its focus on regional development and green-tech innovation, NIT Sikkim houses one of the fastest supercomputers among NITs. Ranked between 151–200 by NIRF Engineering, the institute is steadily expanding research centers and faculty collaborations under NEP‑2020 reforms. While placement numbers are still emerging, the institute attracts recruiters seeking early-career talent and benefits from strong mentorship ties with other NITs and IITs. Ideal for students looking to study in a peaceful, nature-rich environment with a developing technical infrastructure.
