NIT Puducherry was established in 2010 and is located in Karaikal, a coastal enclave of the Union Territory of Puducherry. It is one of the newer NITs and was mentored by NIT Tiruchirappalli during its initial years. The institute is recognized as an Institute of National Importance and operates from a scenic 258-acre campus. NIT Puducherry offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in core engineering disciplines. The campus infrastructure is modern, with well-equipped labs, classrooms, and hostels. Although the institute is still developing in terms of research output and alumni network, it has been steadily improving its placement records. Students benefit from the mentorship model, peaceful campus atmosphere, and emerging industry collaborations. NIT Puducherry plays a vital role in expanding access to quality technical education in southern India and is gradually establishing itself as a competent engineering institution.
