Established in 2010, the National Institute of Technology Nagaland is located in Chümoukedima near Dimapur. It was initially mentored by NIT Silchar before becoming an autonomous institution. NIT Nagaland is recognized as an Institute of National Importance and offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as computer science, electronics, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering. The institute is situated on a serene campus that is gradually being expanded to include new infrastructure. Although it is still in its development phase, NIT Nagaland has been making steady progress in academic and research output. Placement opportunities are improving, with several companies recruiting from the campus annually. The institute plays a crucial role in enhancing technical education in the Northeast and emphasizes a disciplined academic structure, community outreach, and regional development.
