Established originally in 1986 as Government Engineering College and later renamed UIT‑RGPV in 2002, this is the flagship public engineering institute under Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Madhya Pradesh’s state technological university. Located on a sprawling 214-acre urban campus in Bhopal, it offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in over 15 engineering disciplines, including core streams like Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, IT, CSE, Automobile, Mining, Petrochemical, and Environmental Engineering. The institution holds NAAC A‑grade accreditation and delivers strong institutional value through its extensive labs, departmental libraries, hostels, sports facilities, and NKN-enabled digital facilities. Placement data from 2023–24 shows 41 companies recruited from UIT, offering approximately 344 placements, with an average package around ₹4 LPA and a highest package close to ₹54–55 LPA. Major recruiters include Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, Deloitte, HCL, Capgemini, and local industry firms. UIT‑RGPV is known for its vast academic scale, public credibility, wide branch offerings, and its central role in central India’s technical education landscape.
