Established in 1985 and part of Kerala Agricultural University, KCAET in Tavanur is the sole agricultural engineering college in Kerala. It offers specialized B.Tech programs in Agricultural Engineering and Food Engineering (since 2011), each with around 40 seats, along with M.Tech tracks in Soil & Water Conservation, Farm Power & Machinery, and Food Processing. Set on a serene 99-acre campus by the Bharathapuzha River, the institute emphasizes rural development, precision farming, and post-harvest technology. Accredited by ICAR and selected through KEAM, KCAET features modern labs, pilot-scale food processing units, and well-equipped farm fields. Graduates typically pursue careers in agricultural research, equipment manufacturing, government services via KAU/ICAR, and food processing industries.
