Set up in 2015 and mentored by IIT Madras, IIT Tirupati operates from a transit campus in Andhra Pradesh and is developing a 540-acre permanent campus at Yerpedu. It offers B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, MPP, and Ph.D. programs across disciplines like CSE, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, and public policy. In NIRF 2024, it ranked 61st among engineering institutes. Placement results are improving, with highest packages around ₹41 LPA, average packages in the ₹15–20 LPA range, and a placement rate over 80%. The institute has built early strength in interdisciplinary research and student-driven innovation, with modern labs and collaboration spaces. While infrastructure and residence life are still expanding, IIT Tirupati offers a promising, interdisciplinary academic environment aligned with sustainable future goals.
