Established in 2008 and located on a sprawling 936-acre site in Odisha’s Khordha district, IIT Bhubaneswar is a newer IIT offering B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. programs in streams such as CSE, ECE, Mechanical, Civil, and interdisciplinary sciences. Admission is via JEE Advanced and GATE. The permanent campus was inaugurated in 2018 and combines modern infrastructure with ample green cover. Research and teaching span science, engineering, and humanities with national funding and international collaborations. With around 2,900 students and ~204 faculty, the institute prioritizes an inclusive learning environment. Though still growing its placement profile, IIT Bhubaneswar emphasizes academic rigor and research development, seeking to establish a strong footprint among India’s third-generation IITs.
