Launched in 2017 under a PPP partnership with Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers, Gujarat Gas, and Gujarat Informatics, IIIT Surat is mentored by SVNIT Surat. Operating from SVNIT’s campus until its own 29-acre land in Kamrej is developed, it offers B.Tech degrees in CSE and ECE—with PhD programs introduced in 2022. Admission is via JEE Main through JoSAA/CSAB. The curriculum is updated with topics such as AI, ML, NLP, embedded systems, and robotics. While infrastructure remains under development, students leverage SVNIT’s facilities (labs, library, sports). Placement trends are promising with average packages around ₹10–12 LPA, and offers rising annually. IIIT Surat is rapidly establishing itself as a core technology-oriented Institute of National Importance in Gujarat.
