Established in 2013 under the Public-Private Partnership model and designated an Institute of National Importance in 2017, IIIT Guwahati is located on a 67‑acre urban campus near the airport in Assam. It offers B.Tech programs in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), alongside M.Tech degrees and Ph.D. programs in CSE, ECE, Mathematics, and Humanities & Social Sciences. With an emphasis on research and innovation, it has secured TEQIP‑III funding and is ranked around 112 among engineering institutions by NIRF (2022). The institute hosts Yuvaan, its annual technical and cultural fest, and maintains a close-knit academic environment with about 900 B.Tech and 150 M.Tech students, supported by around 50 faculty members. IIIT Guwahati is recognized for its industry-oriented curriculum, early placement records, and strong potential in Northeast India’s tech education landscape.
