Mentored initially by IIITDM Kancheepuram, IIITDM Kurnool was established in the late 2010s. It operates under the national PPP IIIT framework and is part of the NITational Institutes of Information Technology family following parliamentary status. Currently located in a temporary campus, it offers B.Tech programs aligned with design and manufacturing curricula. Academic culture is still evolving, supported by mentorship infrastructure and growing faculty. With admission through JEE Main, placements are gradually rising in tech and manufacturing sectors. As a developing center, it offers potential for students seeking cost‑effective education in newer IIITDM branches.
