UIET, founded in 2004 as part of Kurukshetra University in Haryana, operates on a self-financed model backed by World Bank TEQIP support. It provides B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. programs in CSE, ECE, Mechanical, and Biotechnology, as well as Defense Technology and Electrical Engineering. The institute serves over 1,600 top-rank students, with campuses that include specialized department blocks, research labs, and leisure infrastructure. While UIET does not feature separately in NIRF, Kurukshetra University ranks #91 among state universities (2024), and UIET is recognized among top 150–170 engineering institutes nationally. The academic approach emphasizes innovation, industry-aligned learning, and “mind-to-market” ethos, ensuring solid placement and holistic development.
