Founded in 1921 and designated as a deemed university, Punjab Engineering College is a centrally funded institution affiliated with UGC and AICTE. The campus offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across engineering, architecture, and management disciplines. PEC is consistently ranked among India’s top-tier engineering schools (NIRF engineering ranking 101–150). The campus houses state-of-the-art labs and recently added a POWERGRID Centre of Excellence for power and energy research. In 2024–25 placement season, PEC recorded a 65.7% placement rate, average package around ₹13.6 LPA, and top offers exceeding ₹61 LPA, especially in CSE and electronics streams. Recruiters span IT, core engineering, and public sector firms. PEC continues to uphold academic rigor backed by infrastructure investments and strong alumni and industry collaborations.
