Established in 2001 under the Ministry of Textiles, IICT Bhadohi is Asia’s only specialized institute in carpet and textile technology. Affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, it offers a unique B.Tech in Carpet and Textile Technology (NBA-accredited) with integrated modules like Home Textile Technology and Textile Design. Spread across a 10-acre campus near Varanasi, the institute features NABL‑certified labs, design studios, a museum, computer facilities, conference hall, residential hostels, and design resources. IICT’s objectives span industry-relevant R&D, design bank creation, artisan training (8000+ trained), and technical support for the carpet sector. Students benefit from placement opportunities in major textile, weaving, and manufacturing firms such as Welspun and Obeetee.
