Overview

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the registration window for JEE Main 2026 Session 2, offering candidates another chance to appear for or improve their scores in the engineering entrance exam. Applications can be submitted online from February 1 to February 25, 2026, through the official JEE Main portal. The April session examination is scheduled to be held between April 2 and April 9, 2026, in computer-based mode.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the registration process for JEE Main 2026 Session 2, giving engineering aspirants another important opportunity to improve their scores or appear for the exam for the first time. As per the latest notification, candidates can submit their applications online starting February 1, 2026, through the official JEE Main website.

The April session of JEE Main 2026 is scheduled to be conducted between April 2 and April 9, 2026, and will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across examination centres in India and abroad.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2: Important Dates

According to the schedule released by NTA, the key dates for Session 2 are as follows:

  • Start of online application: February 1, 2026

  • Last date to submit application: February 25, 2026 (up to 9:00 PM)

  • Last date to pay application fee: February 25, 2026 (up to 11:50 PM)

  • Examination dates: April 2 to April 9, 2026

Candidates are advised not to wait until the last day to complete the application process, as heavy traffic on the portal often leads to technical delays.

Who Can Apply for Session 2?

Candidates who appeared for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 and wish to improve their scores can apply for Session 2 by logging in with their existing application number and password. Such candidates will only need to select their preferred paper, medium of examination, exam city, and pay the applicable examination fee for Session 2.

Students who did not apply for Session 1 can also apply fresh for Session 2 by completing the full registration process on the portal.

It is important to note that only one application form is allowed per candidate. Submitting multiple applications will be treated as unfair means (UFM) and may lead to disqualification, even if detected at a later stage.

Application Mode and Official Website

The NTA has clarified that applications for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 will be accepted only in online mode. Forms submitted through any other method will not be considered.

All official updates related to exam city intimation, admit card download, and result declaration will also be published on the same portal at the appropriate time.

What Candidates Should Keep Ready

Before starting the application, students should ensure they have access to:

  • A valid email ID and mobile number (belonging to the candidate or parents/guardians)

  • Scanned copies of photograph and signature as per specifications

  • Aadhaar details or valid identity proof

  • Online payment method for the application fee

The NTA will communicate all important information through the registered email ID and mobile number, so candidates should ensure these details remain active throughout the admission process.
